I’m still in the process of setting up my Blog Production Space, so this will have to do for a post. Getting a new monitor, setting up a permanent audio recording space, scheduling recurring blocks on the calendar, etc. This is all because I work from home and have too much spare time. So blogging.
I have two more posts all written up, ideas for two more, and a huge pile of stories to draw from. But there’s a pull to produce videos. The idea is that a blog post will basically be a short video with a loose transcript and links. But the space isn’t ready yet.
My Muse

This is my daily companion, Atomic. He was initially going to be named Atomic Muffin, but we knew we’d never repeat all that every day. So Atomic it is. He’s a 90lb teddy bear.
He exhibits strong will and clear communication of what he wants. If you’re walking him and suddenly feel your arm trying to pull a boulder, it means Atomic wants to cross the street. If you’re slow putting that together, he’ll casually turn his head in that direction, as well. Then stare at you with his paws dug into the concrete.
It’s entirely unreasonable how perfect he is. For an Aries, I mean. He’s very emotionally intelligent, and learns tricks…if I hike over Lazy Mountain to teach him anything.
We love getting out, but right now it’s summer. He overheats pretty quickly. So there’s a lot of laying about, and me feeling wee-guilty about not doing more. But at the end of the day, he just wants to chew stuff in different landscapes. And there’s plenty to chew in the air conditioning. (Somebody spoils him with toys.)
Potentially interesting is his unique dream life. We’ve had 6 dogs and none ever demonstrated his rich dream world. It’s not uncommon for us to be woken at 3am as he howls in his sleep at something. More often, he makes distressed noises or seems to chase things. He spends most of his life with me in a house, so I wonder how I figure in these dramas.
We’re grateful to have this wellspring of good energy and protector in the home.
