12/21/2023 0 Comments "Show Us What You Love"In the past 10 years of my participation in our transition to "The New Earth," a few principles stand out as foundational. One is the recurring phrase, "Show us what you love." You've probably heard some variant of the idea that love is everything, and everything is love. Some viscerally connect with love as an emotion, a physical sensation, an indescribable energy. For others Love is a concept. An unreachable ideal. A direction and a destination never fully realized, yet guiding our highest intentions. Many of the mystics and 21st century prophets express that Love's what everything's about, what keeps all the wheels turning, what all humanity's struggles can be boiled down to. Some of us almost seem to experience the global lack of love. The task of elevating humanity's love can at times feel overwhelming. Though one may feel so much, what can one really do? To explore that, I ask you, "What's your relationship to love?" Passions Versus PursuitsWhen I reflect on this, I think of particular public figures. Probably not ones you'd imagine. For example, I think of David Bowie and Dan Deacon's love of creating music. Alex and Allyson Grey's love of art. I think about my wife...and Her love of dogs. That last one's a bit of sarcasm, but not untrue. The point is we love what we love and there's no need for analysis about it. What you love draws you out, compels you against all odds or reasoning. One could say, "Dan, David, Alex, and Allyson, there's already plenty of good music and art out there. Why should you bother?" But they spent their lives showing us what they love, haven't they? And isn't that what brings so many people into our awareness through history? People loving what they love. By contrast, the big critique of modern America is that it's turned into a big popularity contest. Who draws in the most gawkers. I was watching an interview recently where a young person was asked what they wanted for their life. They said, "To be popular." When asked, "For what?" They looked confused and shrugged their shoulders. Because popularity has become its own valuable asset, a pursuit all its own. Yet the the world that brought us to this point was paved by people pouring themselves into their passions. Einstein wasn't in it for fame. Michael Jordan loved basketball. Mae Jemison, Brené Brown. Accomplished people in every field were pouring themselves into things they love. Enthusiasm draws people in, generates energy. It's infectious. It buzzes and enlivens and grows. Love expands. Taking it CosmicTaking this logic, the phrase from my invisible friends returns. "Show us what you love." This feeds the universe's evolution. Imagine an entire universe of beings throwing themselves into what they care most about. Visualize all the energy generated by that collective passion. Where everything is poured into exciting possibilities, amazing things are going to happen. What am I passionate about? What do I truly care about, love? As far as my conventional human life, there has only been one answer. My marriage. I've struggled with the idea it's "enough." Shouldn't I be doing more? Shouldn't participation in the expansion of our universe take larger proportions? Shouldn't I be thinking bigger? But when I do, nothing builds. Because the joy in my wife's face means more to me than anything else happening today. Sarah tells me She's blissfully in love, loves Her life, and is grateful for everything we have. What I am willing to let compromise that? Nothing. And then one might ask... am I trapped in this tiny life? Lacking faith in love, and in loving, is like throwing water on the fire. Like shutting the fuel to a rocket firing up on the launch pad. My invisible friends laugh at the idea that love somehow constricts you. You love what you love. That's clarifying, isn't it? "Show us what you love" is a razor carving the truth of you. What else can you be? Perhaps when you jump through the doorway of what you actually, truly, bottom-line-no-bullshit Love - when you are ALL IN - this is your participation in the expansion and evolution of everything. It's where you stand, and it's how you help. I'm told that every experience, every moment, every life is ever-accessible. There are beings out there in the great beyond feeding on your joy, and on everything else generated by your life. Much more deeply than a movie-goer enjoys a romantic comedy, beings are changed by you. By your story. They are forever changed as they experience you in authentic passion. So feed the universe with that love thing you got going. Whatever it is.

12/3/2023 0 Comments The Beginning and The EndHello to the few who stumble upon this little pile of soliloquies. Allow me to briefly describe this journey. After decades of denying psychic/intuitive experience, I surrendered to it. With that new openness came a parade of helpers, teachers, friends, and allies. Visible and invisible. And revelations too big for this human container to hold. Struggle, battle, descents and losses. Foolishness, avoidance, and stubborn refusals. Then...somehow...integration. Allowance. Being. There's forty years in that paragraph. David Bowie once said an artist is not functional in the world. Metaphysical gurus of all types have shared that one's ascension process typically requires period(s) of insanity. Jung traversed this space in his Red Book. You are challenging the default frames of reality that offer your amorphous mind firm handles. A structure for "reality." You were given a convenient steering wheel. Letting it go is insanity. This is a state in which pure creativity can thrive. It's also a place where holding tightly to handles tears your psyche. The edge of sanity is where magic can happen. For evidence, I present to you planet Earth. FreedomWhen a laboratory chimpanzee is finally liberated to a preserve, it often does not charge right out of the cage environment it has only ever known. It may take hours or days for the primate to attempt the terrifying transition to wide open space. You see, it's a lot easier to move them from one cage into another, ad infinitum. Putting these ideas together, you can see Metaphysics and "Ascension Process" as another set of convenient frames and handles, and little more than that. The seeker moves from a familiar set of handles and steering wheels to this "higher" set. We call it spiritual, mystical, or metaphysical. But they're convenient contrivances as much as the conventional ones we liberated ourselves from. From one box into another. And letting them go, you can in fact go insane again. Not a problem. Steps toward freedom. In a dream I once explored underground caverns beneath a prison, flooded to the top with water. A group of us SCUBA'd through the cold, dark waters. I somehow knew I could take off my mask and breathe water. And eventually did. I think this is the sort of insane invitation some find in their path. If it's part of your journey, it's inescapable it seems. Or else you might move from one cage to the next, a stack ultimately reaching from the Earth to the highest heights you can imagine....but no further. I suspect for those who choose an ever-evolving path, groundedness and insanity are competing phases of an eternal cycle. The way of the infinite. You see this in the creation and destruction of solar systems, for example. So I suppose I'm saying this journey of mine has been about getting comfortable being a star. |
